Medical taping is an approach that supports the healing process. The Medical taping concept uses elastic tape. The tape is stretchable up to 140 percent. This elasticity is used when applying the tape and ensures that the epidermis is 'lifted', as it were. The recovery process is thus supported.
For example, taping can be useful after a tissue trauma such as a muscle tear. After a muscle tear, an inflammatory reaction takes place, causing local swelling. This causes an increase in pressure on the surrounding tissue. The lifting effect of the tape immediately relieves pressure. One of the most important effects is direct pain relief due to the decrease in pressure on the pain receptors, the increase in blood circulation and lymphatic drainage.
The tape does not need to be removed during exercise and showering. Sometimes there is an allergic reaction. Then it is important to remove the tape immediately.
