Calf complaints are a common complaint among athletes. A moment when calf complaints arise is, for example, a stabbing pain during a sprint. The calf muscle can also be strained, causing pain.
If there is a tear in one of the calf muscles, the rehabilitation will take longer than with a muscle strain. When there is a tear in the calf muscle, it is also called a whiplash.
There are various strength and stretch tests to properly identify calf complaints, but an ultrasound of the calf muscles can also provide a great deal of insight into the type of condition. If necessary, we will also make an ultrasound of your calf muscle(s).
If there is an Achilles tendon problem, we can properly identify this and start your rehabilitation together with you.
Calf complaints can also come from the back. That is why it is important to also analyze the back properly during the intake.
The sooner you start rehabilitation, the faster the recovery will be. Therefore, make an appointment quickly to assess the complaint and to draw up a plan of action.
