Lower leg complaints

In the past 30 years we have gained a lot of knowledge about the rehabilitation of patients with muscle complaints in the lower leg. These are often sports-related complaints that can be treated well by means of fysiotherapy.
Common complaints in the lower leg

Often the complaints are in the calf muscle, with many people indicating that it "shot in" during a sprint. You can also suffer from your shins. We call this shin splint or shin splint inflammation.

Our approach

During the intake, the fysiotherapist with you to the possible cause of the complaint and then draws up a recovery plan.

Treatments

The treatment is aimed at resuming work, sports or other activities as soon as possible.

Everything about lower leg complaints

We often encounter calf complaints in practice. These complaints are caused by overload or a sudden sports injury. It is very important to clarify during the intake whether it is a muscle injury or a tendon injury (eg Achilles tendon injury).

In order to map this out properly, it can be decided to make an ultrasound of it.
In addition to calf complaints, we also see many shin complaints. This is also called shin splint or shin splint inflammation. It is important to have this complaint assessed quickly to prevent it from becoming a chronic complaint that requires a long rehabilitation.

The following applies to the above complaints: the sooner you start your recovery, the sooner you can resume your (sports) activities.

We have developed a number of care plans especially for patients with the above lower leg complaints. The care plan is a personal treatment plan, in which your treatment process is precisely tailored to your complaints.

After performing a number of tests and completing questionnaires, it is determined which care plan is best suited for you. There are special test and measurement instruments to map the effects of the treatment. In addition, we have an ultrasound system to map out your muscle complaint.

Shoe advice: gait analysis - 01

Gait analysis and/or shoe advice

During the gait analysis, your old shoes will be assessed. You have to walk up and down in front of the camera a few times to film and analyze your walking pattern. You then walk barefoot in front of the camera several times and, if necessary, in corrected shoes to judge the difference. The gait pattern is then assessed frame by frame to determine whether there is compensation from the feet, knees and/or hip/pelvis and appropriate shoe advice can be given.
