Shoulder complaints

In the past 30 years, we have gained a great deal of knowledge about the rehabilitation of patients with shoulder complaints after surgery, but also for shoulder complaints without medical intervention.

Our approach

During the intake, the physiotherapist will look at the possible cause of the complaints with you. A recovery plan will then be drawn up.

Treatments

The treatment is aimed at improving the load capacity of the shoulder in order to eventually be able to function again.

Everything about Shoulder complaints

Shoulder complaints have many different causes. A good analysis of the problem is therefore essential before treatment can be started. Fysioplein helps you to take a good look at the source of the complaints during this intake. By means of various tests, such as a muscle strength test or ultrasound examination, we look at the nature of the complaint. Then we choose the approach that fits the problem.

Fysioplein treats many shoulder complaints after surgery such as a shoulder prosthesis, Labrumrepair, Latarjet, Cuffrepair, Biceps tenodesis/tenotomy. Rehabilitation after such an operation requires a specialist approach to achieve a good recovery.

In addition, we also see many shoulder complaints without surgical intervention. If you have had a (sports) trauma and suffer from a dislocated shoulder/shoulder dislocation, a shoulder fracture, tendonitis or bursitis, it is advisable to have the shoulder examined by one of our physiotherapists. A treatment plan will be drawn up in consultation with you. A quick assessment is also important for muscle/tendon complaints around the shoulder so that it does not become a chronic injury.

Muscle and tendon complaints around the shoulder are common. These complaints require a different approach than rehabilitation after surgery. This will be explained during the intake.

We have developed a number of shoulder care plans especially for patients with shoulder complaints. The shoulder care plan is a personal treatment plan, in which your treatment process is precisely tailored to your complaints. After performing a number of tests and completing a questionnaire, it is determined which shoulder care plan is best for you. Fysioplein has test and measuring instruments to measure the effects of your treatment.

Other complaints?

If your complaint is not listed on our site, please contact us. Based on a conversation and physical examination, assess what may be the matter. Then we can draw up a plan of action with you.

Our approach

During the intake, the complaint is mapped out on the basis of a short interview and a physical examination. After the intake interview, a treatment plan will be drawn up and discussed with you. Then the treatment is started. During the rehabilitation process, there will be an evaluation at set times. These tests consist of tests and/or questionnaires that are discussed with you. Then the further treatment plan is outlined.

Treatments for Shoulder complaints

Manual therapy

The aim of manual therapy is on the one hand to improve the functioning of the joints and on the other hand to improve your posture and movements. To this end, the manual therapist uses a number of specific techniques that can be applied in the joints.
